Family Beach Photography

Our beautiful North Florida beaches are a classic and timeless setting for family photos. A beach photo session could be a once in a life-time event or an annual tradition to capture the essence of your life. We think of these photographs like little time capsules that are displayed throughout the home and shared with loved ones. As we well know, children grow up so fast! Before you can imagine it, we're looking back and saying, "Remember when....". A visual reminder can touch the soul and brighten any day.

Christina & J.R. Wedding 10-17-09

Always a pleasure to get the opportunity to photograph a wedding together. We especially enjoyed Tina and J.R., the wonderful, happy couple. Last Saturday Christina Lutgen and J.R. Malone were married at the Jacksonville Golf and Country Club. It was a bit chilly which was unexpected after having crazy 90+ degree weather earlier in the week, but that did not detract from the beautiful ceremony and fun reception. Other than a little wind and a few goose bumps from the bridesmaids who were wearing adorable ice blue dresses, everything was fantastic. These photographs are a combination of our work that showcases their lovely day. - Jerry & Karen

A Year's Worth of Smiles

Now is a perfect time of year to schedule a family portrait session... The weather is starting to cool down (okay, hopefully it will be soon) and the holidays are right around the corner. Pictures of your family are great to use in your greeting cards, gifts and even a 12 month calendar to enjoy all next year (a favorite for grandma and grandpa).

Try getting all the cousins together like we did for this photo shoot at Memorial Park in Riverside. Matching dresses for the girls and simple outfits like khakis and white shirts for the boys really help set the stage. Parks around town with a variety of scenery make a lovely backdrop. The Prime Osborn Convention Center with it's big columns gives a more formal setting. And don't forget our beautiful beaches as an option.

The best time of day for a family portrait is usually right before dusk. The lighting is great and no one is squinting from the bright sunshine. Sunsets can also be spectacular at this time of year.

In addition to the traditional family group shot, think about smaller groupings and individual photographs of each child for a variety of images you're sure to treasure.

Most of all, don't forget to have some FUN...

Residence on the River

Can you say "wow"? The owner of this home personally designed and decorated many of the wonderful elements seen throughout these gorgeous photographs. These images were captured during daylight and dusk times to get a feel for the different architecture and lighting of the house, exterior structures and landscapes. This photo shoot was a pleasure as it's always great to work with talented people that love art as we do.

Business Portrait

Jerry's depth of work never ceases to amaze me. Though we have been primarily focusing on wedding photography, Jerry continues to excel with his commercial photography. His talent for lighting and composition crosses all industries, no matter the subject or place. I just came across a photo shoot that had such diversity of images, all of only one individual. These are a small sampling of Kerry D. Romesburg, President of Jacksonville University, that represents an average, on-location business portrait that you can expect from Jerry Favorite.

Gator Love

Amanda and Andy are getting married in Gainesville today and Jerry is happy to head back to his old stomping grounds to capture their wonderful wedding day! These engagement images are some of our favorites from their Gator-loving photo shoot.

Nicole & Jermaine

The engagement session gives couples a wonderful opportunity to get to know their photographer, get more comfortable being in front of the camera and (of course) get lots of great pictures... having fun, being in love. These images of Nicole and Jermaine are from my Sunday's photo shoot at Hanna Park, one of our favorite locations. -Karen

Montage Engagement Spread and Wedding Party Page

This is Jerry, I am working on a custom wedding album. We design each album one spread at a time. We use Photoshop 100% and do not use template software to make it quick.  I could not imagine sending this work out.  The engagement photo spread is always a favorite of mine to design.

Stylized images of personality or character break up the album mood. I am glad she chose this shot instead if the formal pose.

Crystal & Brad Wedding 2-28-09

Well, Jerry and I have a little friendly challenge to see if we can encourage each other to stay current with our photography blog. This is a great, interactive outlet for us to get more personable about the images we take. We'd love to receive your comments as well!

I must say, choosing only 10 of my favorite photos (out of about 1,900) from Crystal and Brad's wedding was much harder than I thought it would be. Kristyn Patterson, one of our regular photographers we work with, photographed this special event with me. I included a few of her creative shots along with my personal favorites.

It's all in the details! I just love photography all the little details brides spend so much effort putting together.

Okay, maybe it's because we have a 5 year old boy, but this image of the ring bearer really melts my heart.
